This Guy Missed His Graduation Because Of A Delayed Train, So He Had An Impromptu Ceremony On The Subway Instead
While most people were graduating in football stadiums and convention centers, this student had his ceremony on a New York subway. And it was just as awesome (and weird) as it sounds.
When Jerich Alcantara of Hunter College realized he was going to miss his graduation because of the severely-delayed E train (which was three hours late), he decided to surprise disgruntled onlookers by having his graduation ceremony right then and there.

It was probably the most New York thing in the world, tbh.
"While somebody…on the train blasted 'Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)' by Green Day." God I love New York: https://t.co/h55BMM97jf

Not even a delayed E train could stop this young man from experiencing a graduation. Way to show up for him, #NY! https://t.co/ILHqXPRtFU

A totally uplifting story that in no way should make you mad at the MTA. https://t.co/WgyxJaQdsu

He seriously went all out — not only were they playing Green Day’s “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)”, he also airdropped his diploma so passengers could see.

Even his own college recognized the impromptu ceremony, so you know it’s legit.
Congrats to all the #HunterGrads 🎓including Jerich Marco Alcantara who had an impromptu ceremony on an @MTA subway. https://t.co/wz5RDOJsbs

We swear we’ve heard this story before, though… right?
This was a plot of a Full House episode https://t.co/PFX754sh6Z

Congratulations to the graduate!! 🎓 The people on the subway were awesome. Same thing happened to Uncle Jesse (@JohnStamos) on Full House.

He is legitimately living in a TV show, and how could you not root for this guy? Everything about this is feel-good.
3 hours on the E train! Subway riders arranged an impromptu grad ceremony when Jerich's train was late.
