This Is What Happens When You Finally Embrace Being Single

Your twenties are your selfish years everyone says, but more than that they are the time in your life where you panic if you’re not in a relationship. Admit it you’ve done it at one point or another. And if you are in a relationship you see your single friends panicking. For some reason we still have this idea that we need to go to college, get a job, fall in love, get married, have kids all by our mid-twenties, and that notion is completely irrelevant now-a-days.

When you’re single you have the entire world at your fingertips, you can travel wherever and whenever you want, you can go out as often or as little as you want. You don’t have to worry about anyone other than yourself, so be a “yes” person. Try new things, move new places, meet new people, don’t let any opportunities pass you by. Being single leads to endless amounts of freedom and chances to take.

The best part of being single is you still have the chance to find the person who will make your heart sing and smile glow. You still have the days ahead of you when you will find your soul mate and everything will fit seamlessly together. You still have love to fall into and forever to be shared.

Until that point live free and live happy. Enjoy the moments of uncertainty, enjoy the queen bed to yourself, enjoy the silent mornings with coffee because one day you might have a scheduled life, you will get to share the bed with someone and you will get to make two cups of coffee in the morning.

Until those days come, and they will, love your life the way it is. Love every breath taking moment, every heartbreak and every accomplishment. Don’t wait for “something better” to come along because you don’t know what the future brings. You have to live for the now, live for the people who are currently in your life. Take advantage of the freedom you’re presented with at this moment in life. You’re free-spirited in your twenties, be spontaneous while you have the chance. Be spontaneous when you’re not being restricted by someone’s fears or dislikes.

Grow your relationships with your friends and family because once you do find your significant other you damn well know that you will be spending less time with your friends and more time with them, no matter how much you deny it, it will happen. This is your time to focus on yourself and yourself only, so concentrate on what makes you happy and who makes you happy and surround yourself with those things and people.

It leads you to learn who you are, what you value and what inspires you. Those are all going to be things that lead you to the right person down the road, but for now focus on those things for yourself. Embrace your independence and become confidant with who you are as a person.

Get out and experience life to the absolute fullest because when the future arrives and you do have the person of your dreams by your side you’ll be ready to spend every night with them and you’ll be ready to make their morning coffee because you lived fully and whole-heartedly when you were single. This will lead you to be ready for the next part of your life and to embrace that part of your life fully.
