We live in the wide, wide world. But the world is much wider and much weirder than we could have ever imagined.

It is not well-known that people can walk on top of the clouds. It is a thing that is rarely attempted these days.

I am now trying to think of examples in my life where I was too on the nose. Once, I insulted a fat girl by calling her “fat.” In a similar vein, I once insulted a white trash guy by calling him “white trash.”

If someone speaks to you, after a period of long silence, it will lead you back into human life. It is like staring out a window, when you are lonely. At first you are just staring for no reason.

When you are on a bridge, it seems that you are neither here nor there.

A motivation is not really essential for this story. There is a man, and he has a kite, and that is all. We will note in passing that the man is wearing slacks and a dress shirt with a tie — and no jacket — but that is all. His tie is fluttering in the wind, but this simply means that is it a good day for kite-flying.

First, you travel to future times, then to more past times, then more future times — spaceships and donkeys, castles and airships, knights and skyscrapers. The more you move around in the time machine, the more it all becomes a blur.
