As anyone who has been job hunting for the last few years, whether by choice or by force can tell you, the whole process is nothing short of sheer hell.
5. “I will write a novel in one month.”
It turns out, other people think they know more about your rape than you do. It turns out that many people will have many opinions about an event that didn’t happen to them. It turns out that you will really care about what they think, and it will slice open your belly, over and over and over again.
A change of scene is a temporary novelty.
You have unconscious cultural biases. You might think you’re less prone to cultural bias as a result of being well travelled and/or growing up in a multicultural city, but it’s not until you live abroad that your cultural biases are challenged.

All three types may exist within a single friendship, but Aristotle believed the best type of friendship is the one that encourages virtue (or goodness) in both parties
That’s not to say we should aspire to mediocrity – far from it. Instead, we should aim for extraordinary but learn to be content even if we fail to hit the mark.
What really terrifies me the most, is that I might never get to fall in love with myself. I have been trying, you see, but I can only ever smile so much every day.
Life works in the most challenging and mysterious of ways. And that’s okay. We can’t always hold on to what we had hoped would happen.
