Having strong feelings for someone doesn’t mean you’re meant to be together. It doesn’t mean this person is capable of giving you everything you deserve.
Gather up the courage to take a chance on yourself, to follow your heart, to listen to what your gut is saying.
Remember, toxic humans are capable of treating you with kindness some of the time — but you deserve someone who treats you with kindness all of the time.
They aren’t going to strive to create an existence that seems impressive on paper.
You might wish you would’ve settled — but will eventually be thankful that wasn’t the case.
Now, dating them might feel like a mistake, but back then, turning them down would’ve felt like a mistake.
I don’t want to have everyone in the world convinced of my happiness except for the person who matters the most — myself.
Would you encourage me to stop beating myself up so much? Would you wish that I did a better job of learning to love myself? Would you push me to take better care of myself, to think more of myself, to recognize my strengths more?
As 2020 comes to a close and 2021 begins, don’t be so hard on yourself for the things you failed to accomplish, for the regrets you accumulated, for the lessons you were forced to learn.
